ProPhotogs.com, sometimes called ProPs is a place for your to learn, share, make new friends (photo buddies), and renew old friendships. In July 2010 LaVelda and I purchased the forum from Cher Salo who started PropS about 7 years ago. It grew and became a force in photographic education.

I want to add another level education to ProPhotogs.com. I have added video critiques for our members. You simple upload a few photos and I will critique them and post a video of the critique. These are informative, kind, fair and educational. You will learn how you can make your images better. And you can even watch all of the other critiques.

We also are introducing webinars and video lessons so you can improve your business and photography. Members share their experiences, things that worked and things that did not work. This gives you hundreds of piers you can talk to and ask questions.

Plus you have me. I have been a professional photographer for 35+ years. I have had three studios in my career, one big and two small. All successful! I will share my experiences with you.

I hope you will join us here and begin to grow your business. Below is a testimonial I received. Thanks Sharon. If you have any questions on concerns, my personal email is dougbox@aol.com. I welcome you as a new member.

"I joined Prophotogs.com (Props) on March 19, 2008 and my membership has been one of the most valuable tools that I invested in for my small photography business.

I've learned so many things on lighting, marketing, sales, and much more from the wonderful people on the forum who generously share their knowledge and experiences.

I've always avoided photographing larger groups because I was so clumsy posing them. Just one thread with Props owner, Doug Box, demonstrating posing techniques for large groups helped me tremendously. Soon after reading the thread and watching Doug's video tutorial I confidently posed a medium sized group. My clients were happy, I was happy, and going forward this knowledge will surely help increase my sales. That is only one example of the value I've enjoyed as a Props member.

If you're just starting out or even if you've been in business for awhile I urge you to make Props your online home/school/office. I'll look forward to seeing you there and sharing experiences around the online virtual 'water cooler.' "
